Back2Back is Back!
One of America’s favorite double weekends is back for 2019! The Big Beach Marathon is again teaming up with the Mississippi Blues Marathon for the Blues2Beach Back2Back Challenge. Back2Back participants will run the Blues on Saturday, January 26, then head south to Gulf Shores, Alabama, for the Big Beach Marathon on Sunday, January 27.
Each event offers both marathon and half marathon distances so runners who complete any combination of the two will receive a Back2Back Challenge finisher’s award. Additionally, runners who complete the marathon at both events are instantly eligible for Marathon Maniacs’ Iridium level! Be sure to check the appropriate box on our registration form indicating your interest in participating in the Back2Back Challenge.

If you really want to relax and recover between races, check the box to ride the Blues Bus round trip from the Blues start/finish area to the Big Beach Marathon expo on Saturday afternoon. The bus returns to the Blues start/finish area in Jackson Sunday afternoon after Big Beach. Blues Bus questions:
- What is the cost of the bus charter service for the Back2Back race?
- What are the times the shuttle will be leaving and returning to Jackson?
If we have reservations to accommodate more than one bus, the first bus will leave as soon as it is full. The next departure time will be scheduled to leave at 2:30 p.m. We will try to follow this schedule both days, leaving Jackson on Saturday and leaving Gulf Shores to return to Jackson on Sunday.
- Can friends and family members not participating in the race but traveling with a registered runner ride the bus?
Yes. Just select the number of tickets you need when you register for either race.
- Where are the pick up/drop off locations?
Buses will depart from the Blues start/finish area in front of the Jackson Convention Center on Saturday and return to the same location on Sunday. The buses will drop-off Saturday and load Sunday in Gulf Shores in an area adjacent to the Big Beach start/finish and expo. Both locations are within walking distance of most of the hotels listed on the race websites.
