Air Travel
If flying isyour speed, we have several nearby options to get to the Gulf.
The closest area airport is the Pensacola International Airport(http://www.flypensacola.com/) (located approximately 43 miles from Gulf Shores) which is serviced by all of the major airline carriers. From the airport it is easy to rent a car or hire a shuttle service.
Another option is the Mobile Regional Airport (http://www.mobairport.com). This airport is located approximately 62 miles from Gulf Shores.
Gulf Shores International Airport is located just two miles north of the beaches in Gulf Shores, and primarily serves private charters and corporate jets for business and leisure travelers.

Our beaches are in close proximity to two major interstates: I-10 and I-65.
Cities like Atlanta, Memphis, Nashville, Chicago and Houston are all within a day’s drive of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. And, we are just a few hours away from cities such as New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Birmingham and Jackson. Note: EV charging is available in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach.
RideShare is a great option for overall travel but is to be avoided on race morning! There are not enough Ubers or Lyfts out that early in the am!

Gulf Shores is a great place to get around on a bike or e-bike. By Car:
If you have a vehicle, or have rented a vehicle, the packet pick up location, and race day sites have free parking. The Lodge is located approximately 1 mile from the The HangOut, the venue for Big Beach Marathon and Half Marathon start/finish + post race party.

By Foot:
There is a beachside paved trail should you choose to walk from The Lodge to the start at the HangOut. The distance is roughly 1 mile.

SHUTTLE DETAILS:
Runners and spectators are invited to use the shuttle services. The fee is $5 one way, $10 Round Trip. CASH ONLY!
In order to request the appropriate size and number of shuttles we ask you to please submit your shuttle request through the following form. The deadline to submit is Jan 20, 2025.
Please note, that the shuttle is being provided by a third-party vendor and is NOT operated or managed by Big Beach Marathon/Junction 311 Endurance Sports.
Respondents to this form will be contacted on 1/23/25 with any additional information.
